An update on me...
So its been about 10 days since my 1st visit with my Dr. re: the chest pain Ive been getting- since then I have had 2 EKG's done, a chest X-ray and an echo-cardiogram.
Both EKG's and the chest X-ray came back normal, and Ill know the results of the echo. next week. (but the tech said everything looked perfect)
During my consult w/ the Cardiologist, it was confirmed that I do have a murmur but he doesn't feel that this has anything to do with whats going on.
He believes that I have percaditis- which basically is a virus that attacks the soft tissue surrounding your heart. Many times the virus goes away on its own, sometimes meds are given, and in worst case scenarios the soft tissue is removed. Considering that Im still functioning, can walk, talk etc... he feels that I will fal into the "going away on its own" category.
The "attacks" went from everyday to every other and now it seems its happening every 2-3days (and not lasting as long) so I def. am making progress.
The Dr. also thinks that its probably stress/anxiety related. (Ive been noticing that it seems to get the worst when Im in a stressful situation or upset about something- but then again it happens when nothing is wrong as well)
So basically- good news for now...
Ive made some small changes to my daily routine and have been making it a point to give myself some "me" time...and I def. feel like its helping...

Ya know I actually forgot...2 yrs ago I was having severe chest pains sending me straight into the hospital for 4 days. I totally ruled it as being my MVP acting up but of course they wanted further testing. It was EXCRUCIATING pain to say the least. 4 days later it was confirmed to be the same thing you said "Percaditis??" That to me was FAR more painful then anything Ive felt in my life. I guess the imflammation has varying degrees but to say I was in pain was an understandment. To tell you the truth...the only thing that did help was Vicodin and time. How do you feel now?
also wanted to add....
heavy lifting can definitely bring on percaditis. Do not pick up anything too heavy right now. It will alleviate the pressure alot sooner if you are careful. Honestly, I think it was a good month or 2 before I was better.

Marissa - so glad to hear that you're being checked out thoroughly.
My mom had percarditis, but hers was severe enough to be hospitalized. Thank G-d yours is going away!!!
