And the thermostat battle begins...
DH has the thermostat programmed at night at 68 degrees. Well, that is TOO FLIPPIN COLD for me. I just turned it up to 70 degrees. This happens every winter. I would have it at 74 degrees if it were up to me and we agreed on 70 degrees. Well he has it at 68 and now the heat battle begins.
Anyone else's DH try to freeze them out? Or is mine the only one who wishes he lived in the Tundra.

I think my internal temp is way off since my surgery. I am wearing a long sleeved shirt, a sweat suit, fuzzy socks and drinking herbal tea. all of that and I am still FREEZING MY ARSE OFF.

Re: And the thermostat battle begins...
Both DH & I like it cool but comfortable in our house. Of course, when we are having company over, we will turn it up. For the most part, I would say our house is around 68-72 in the winter...

Re: And the thermostat battle begins...
We used to have this problem and it turned out to be the heating system, we used to have to crank it up to 70-72 degrees. EVERYONE make sure your system is working correctly- our system was old , and we ended up having a puff back and we had the fire dept etc at our home last January. PLEASE make sure everything is okay with the system. This was the negligence of the oil comapnny not telling us we needed a new system! Now we have a new burner and tank, and we keep it at 68 and the house is too warm for us. And I used to be always cold!

It stays at 72 in our home. He likes cold and I like to sweat, so this is our compromise.

That's the way we are... Id rather walk around in sweats and have it cooler in there... DH would rather it be a sauna and walk around in shorts.
Because we are both usually on the cheap side, I win!

Re: And the thermostat battle begins...
DH and I pretty much agree on our indoor temperature. he likes it cooler than I do sometimes, so I add a layer of clothing or put something warmer on.

Re: And the thermostat battle begins...
we have this battle at work! DH knows better than to try and freeze me out but there is an older woman i work with that tries to put the heat at 68.
um, if 72 is good enough for you in the summer (which i think is too cold! i think 74 is the perfect temp) then 72 should be good enough for you in the winter!!!

Re: And the thermostat battle begins...
DH never even touches the thermostat! I keep it at 65, if it's really cold in January I'll up it to 67. I wear alot of layers.

Re: And the thermostat battle begins...
Its almost opposite in this house.
DH is ALWAYS turning it up. During the day, night..hes ALWAYS COLD.
For me, I love to be cooler and then bundle up. I like it to be comfortable at night..I HATE sweating in my sleep.
We havent turned it on yet but I dread it..its always a battle!

Re: And the thermostat battle begins...
Since this is our first year in the house it is a battle so far. I want to keep it down and she wants heat. I mean 63 degrees isn't too bad. I had to compromise and give her 66 degrees. I am stingy.

I'm probably the one trying to freeze DH out. Last week, I had the CAC on!
I do keep it at 70, though.

Re: And the thermostat battle begins...
We set it for 64 during the day and 67 at night. If one of us is cold, we'll turn it up to 70, but we always turn it back down before we go to bed.

DH and i go through the same thing. According to him it's always "Like an Oven" in the apt. But the heat isn't even on and he has the patio door open. I'm sorry but have some consideration for your wife who you "would do anything for" and shut the dorr and the windows and turn the heat on. I do it when he is not looking. THen we argue cuz we cant agree.
