Angel care monitor....

Who has it, and what do yout hink of it. The time has come to move DS to his cribChat Icon , but I know I will be inthere every 5 minutes to check on him even with the video monitor. In the bassinett I put my hand on his chest SEVERAL times a night to make sure he is breathing. Is the angel care monitor the solution, or is there too many false alarms?? Please advise?

We love it. We have gotten a few false alarms and we increased the sensitivity. If we didnt have it I would be up every 5 minutes to make sure DC was still breathing.

Re: Angel care monitor....

another quick question, we put a vibvraor in the crib because DS falls asleep so well with it, will, that totally interfere with the monitor? Maybe I should not turn monitor on til son is fast asleep and vibrator is off??

Re: Angel care monitor....

I have it and love it. I can't sleep without it on...it's kind of my security to know DD is OK without getting up every 5 minutes to check on her. I totally reccomend it.

Re: Angel care monitor....

We used it with both DC. We got a few false alarms with DS, but he would scoot to the edges of the crib all the time. DD got very few false alarms, because she stayed in the middle of the crib.

You should be able to keep the monitor in with the vibrator. Worst case, it won't pick up the motion correctly, but it shouldn't alarm, since it will detect the vibrator motion.

Love it! Love it! Love it! It is the best! I have a false alarm once in a while now that he is bigger and moving around in the crib, but it is totally worth it.

Re: Angel care monitor....

I love it although I wish it came with larger sensor... ds covers the entire lenght/width of his crib during the night and we get a few false alarms per night... dh wants to throw the thing out the window... but I actually sleep much better knowing that if anything happens I will know!

Re: Angel care monitor....

We used it for a while but DD hugs her bumpers so much and now when she is upset she stands up and cries so I am not sure if it is even worth it.

We also switched her to the crib much later. I think with the next baby (in the distant future) we will try to move the baby to the crib sooner and use the angel monitor.

Last night was DS first night in his crib so I know how you feel Chat Icon Last night was definitely harder on me than him. I plan on getting the angel care later this week.

Re: Angel care monitor....

UHHMMMMM sorry, I hated it. Because for some reason my DH would check on our DS before he went to sleep late at night ( I am already in the bed) and pick him up. FALSE ALARM for sure. I must have jumped 5 feet out the bed. But other than that it worked greatChat Icon

I used it every night for the first three months - and then sporadically during the fourth month. I think it's a great thing - and gives you peace of mind!

Re: Angel care monitor....

Swear by that thing, best piece of mind for me! I love it so much I bought one for MIL's house too since she watches DD 3 days/week. It goes off maybe twice a week, which is annoying (why the heck don't they make a larger sensor pad Chat Icon Chat Icon ), but I never freak, I always just figure it's a false alarm and scurry out to DD's room, reset it and check on DD.

Could NOT sleep without it. Made our first nights home from the hospital so much easier too.

Totally worth the $ IMO!

Re: Angel care monitor....

Thanks all. I think I may get it, but my DS is a big wiggle worm in bed, so I'll see how it works. He spent his first night in the big crib. It took him a while to get into his deep sleep, but eventually he did sooth himself (thankfully withhout too many tears). I was surprised I didn't worry too much, but my son is very noisy when he sleeps, so I think that was reassuring, plus I love that if he isin't breathing too shallow I can see it on the monitor. Ohhh this momy business is so worrying!
