Angelina and Son Leave School With "Bye Bye Maddox" Card

After a little over a month, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 5, had his last day at his $18,000-a-year Lycee Francais de New York in NYC yesterday, walking out with a goodbye card as a souvenir as mom Angelina Jolie escorted him home.

This is at least the fourth school change for Maddox, who has also been a student in New Orleans, Prague, and L.A.

Since the oldest member of the Jolie-Pitt brood started classes on September 4, his stay had caused a frenzy. Parents began crowding the school in the morning, taking pictures. The Lycee's director of operations, Dan Cooke, even penned a letter September 14, urging them to respect the family's privacy.

The next stop for the Brangelina clan? L.A.! Jolie begins shooting the Clint Eastwood mystery The Changeling on Monday, while Brad Pitt will start production on the crime thriller State of Play on October 22.

It sad he has to change schools so many times. He will never get to really make any friends. Never mind the fact that schools are different all over the country and he will never get to be on the same page as the other kids in the classs. Its not right to move a kid so much around like that. At least get him a tutor that travels with family so his education can stay consistent.

So are they taking him out because of the other parents? Where is going to go to school then?

I feel like there is no consistancy in their kids lives. I dont care how much money they have and what materialistic things they can buy their kids. Kids thrive on routine and consistancy. How is it fair that he's been in 4 schools and is constantly being taking out of his surroundings, away from his friends, forcecd to make new ones. Just b/c Angelina can't stay in one place for long, she should think about her kids and how it affects them. JMO.

I agree with you. I imagine it goes something like this...

Oh Maddox, I'm sorry you have to leave your new school and friends...mommy has to go make another movie now... because we don't have nearly enough money to sustain our lifestyles and stay put in one place to provide you with some stability for a little while... why? Well, Maddox honey, because your well-being is not our primary concern at the moment. Mommy and Daddy want to make movies. We have careers. Hmm? I'm sorry, what did you say Maddox? Mommy is busy filling out another adoption application...

It doesn't sound like they are taking him out for any other reason than his presence is disrupting the school.

Maybe people should be calling out the other parents for taking pics and crowding the school....Chat Icon

It sounds to me like they are trying to let them develop normally, but other people won't. Not that it would be possible anyway - so the kids will end up getting some sort of home schooling.

I agree with you. It sounds to me like the kid is moving with Mom and Dad's movie career....NOT b/c parents are bothering them. I agree with the tutor thing.

ITA. This is the child of two extemely famous people - not just NY famous, around the world famous. What kind of "normal" life do people really expect he would have? It looks like it has been attempted but people like us (the gawking public) won't allow it.

the article says that both Angelina and Brad are shooting movies in LA starting this week and next. It sounds like they are moving due to their careers.
