OK so for those who didnt see it but want to I won't go into specifics but I was
It's one of my top 3 fave books and EVERYTHING I loved about the book was either changed or cut out.
I guess if I was just seeing the movie without reading the book- then sure its a good movie. Its beautifully done- especially the Vatican crowd scenes (since I think they werent given permission to film there- go figure and it had to be CGI'ed)
But how can you change main characters and storylines!!!!!???? i understand a movie won't be exact but there isn't much expect for the clues thats the same as the book.

I was looking for this thread just posted, lol. I saw tonight and I am disappointed. As you said , if you didn't read the book the movie was great. But as someone who read the book and LOVED it(one of my most favorites as well) , it was NOT good

Admittedly I read the book about 5 years ago. I liked the movie A LOT more than the Da Vinci Code movie. Tom Hanks seemed better as Langdon this time around.
I think a lot of the anti-matter material was cut from the movie, but I didn't miss anything.
I liked it a lot.

Reading the book now. My FIL loved the movie, but I don't think he ever read the book. I'm excited to see it anyway since DH and I were in Rome, Italy last year. I hope they didn't change it too much.

same here!
i didn't love the book - i don't really like when my "light reading" is too technical...i'm more of of a Fitgerald/Hemingway girl.
I thought the movie was fantastic - AND i loved seeing Rome- we were in every single one of those places!
It was definitely a good movie. It moved much faster than the DaVinci code.
