Confessions of a Shopholic- Movie/Book SPOILERS

So I read all the books and loved it! How do you feel about some of the changes we can tell from teh commercials:

1. She is American
2. It takes place in NY
3. She seems to get high on shopping (e.g the commerical where they talk about going into a store), where I thought Becky Bloomberg always felt like she "needed" the item and it was such a good deal, so she always justified it to herself.

What do you think?

I'm going to wait until I see the movie to decide.

But gut reaction I'm okay with 1 and 2 but #3 changes a lot for me.

Although now that they made it in NY, I'm guessing it combines the first book with Shopaholic Takes Manhattan.

I read the book and am very much in the mintority that I thought it was awful.

I have no sympathy for a bubblehead who gets herself into credit card debt because she just can't resist a sale at Barney's Chat Icon In this economy it seems even more frivolous. I love shopping, but the main character is so immature and so irresponsible, just not a good role model at all.

But again, everyone else seemed to love the books.

OMG I HATED the books. I didn't like the first one, decided to give the second one a chance and then got mad at myself for doing it. I likely will not see the movie either.
