Those veins on her hand are nasty.
I have really skinny old lady hands, and I am older than her, and my veins don't look like that. Scary

it reminds me of a ring from the 20's or something. also her old looking hands make it look more dated.

It really is UGLY! I don't even like the center stone, no matter how flawless. It may be a bad photo, too. It doesn't sprakle at all!

Re: angie's ring up close... new photo
so what is it an emerald with a band of baguettes? I thought baguettes went out in the early 90s?
those cuts aren't known for their sparkles- not many facets for the light to hit.

Re: angie's ring up close... new photo
honestly, i expected something very different for her. Not something as over the top as this seems. I agre, I am not a fan of the band at all, although the center stone is beautiful. I agree that Emerald Cut Diamonds look better on a simpler band

Re: angie's ring up close... new photo
I like it I would rock it. I think if you look at it in the right way.
For someone with her money and access to the best styling in the world it will look like a beautiful art-decco style ring to accent it.
If I wore it with my gap outfit I would look like I stole my Moms 1980's ring.....

I like it. It's different from everything else that's out there and being worn today. Plus I like the fact that considering the coin they have, they kept it somewhat understated.
I also don't mind her veiny hands. I have veiny arms & hands too. I've always liked being able to see my veins.

It isn't something I would like. I didn't like the ring he designed for Jennifer Aniston either.. I guess I just don't think much of him as a jewelry designer!

ugly, I don't even like the center stone. There's no sparkle to it...it looks like she got it out of a cracker jack box.
her hands have ALWAYS been bony and veiny...even before she was a skeleton

I heard on the radio this morning it was worth $250,000. Not my style.
That is it? It has to be worth more than that. I have an emerald stone and they have the least amount of facets out of all the cuts. To get a good sparkly stone they have to be near perfect. The size of that diamond looks at least over 3 cts if not way more (it is hard to tell on her skeleton fingers). The diamonds along the sides are all larger stones too. I would think it was worth more than $250K. I think I read he spent like $500K on Jen's ugly ring and it wasn't anywhere near as big and didn't have big side stones.
I think he just has bad taste. Jen's ring was strange.

"Emerald cut diamonds have fewer facets so they're don't have the sparkle of other cuts, but that also means that they need to be the best quality," jewelry expert Michael O'Connor tells Us Weekly of the center stone, which is approximately seven carats. "The light returned from a diamond like this is pure and white. Since Brad and Angelina always choose elements that are deeply symbolic and emotional, it's no doubt that Brad chose a platinum setting to symbolize a love that will never fade, since this ring will become a piece of heirloom jewelry."
"I would estimate this ring to cost $500,000," O'Connor adds of the jewel, which boasts a total of 16 caracts, and its giant price tag.

Angelina Jolie's engagement ring could be worth as much $1 million.
The Hollywood actress and her partner Brad Pitt confirmed they are getting married at the end of last week. They have been together for about seven years and raise six children.
It is known that Pitt had a big hand in designing the ring he has presented Jolie with, which she was spotted wearing at an event earlier this month.
It was created by Beverly Hills jeweller Robert Procop and features a number of diamonds and a yellow gold band. Initially it was reported that it set Pitt back $250,000, but People magazine claims the true cost could have been a lot more.
"An independent expert [says] that the ring could weigh in at more than ten carats total, with a price tag of $1 million," reports the publication.
Pitt and Jolie have previously spoken about their wedding plans, with Pitt admitting their children were starting to pester them about tying the knot.
"They've reached a stage where their family has gelled," an insider explained.
Jeweller Procop discussed how he and Pitt came up with the ring design recently. He explained the Hollywood hunk was determined to get the band right and didn't mind how long it took to design.
"Brad had a specific vision for this ring, which he realised over a yearlong collaboration," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "He wanted every aspect of it to be perfect, so I was able to locate a diamond of the finest quality and cut it to an exact custom size and shape to suit Angelina's hand.
"Brad was always heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design evolution. The side diamonds are specially cut to encircle her finger. Each diamond is of the highest gem quality."

Close to or over a million sounds much more on point. I love Emerald stones because of they are less common but they don't stand off your finger or sparkle like other diamonds which is why others don't seem to like them as much.
My sister in-law just got a square emerald/ also known as assher cut. That is amazing. It has the clean open look of the emerald with more sparkle.
