no the same thing IMO- he was a politican doing his job- they were just regular woman like us- waiting for there DH to come home
How he was elevated to some hero status, for doing his job, is beyond me. He wasn't well loved on 9/10 and then suddenly on 9/12, he's a hero? He did his job. Good for him. He's not president material though, imo.
I agree. He did what was his job and what was expected of anyone in his position.

I though everyone got the the same amount
why did some get more?
obvioulsy some people had other life insurance and pensions- but I thought the settlement was the same
I don't like that either
In wrongful death lawsuits, one of the main factors determining damages is the lifetime earning potential of the victim. The family of someone who worked in a management position of a company would receive a higher payout than the family of someone who had a lower level position.

I DO NOT agree with it, but there is a popular opinion out there about "professional widows". There is a lot of anger about how the widows have profited from the deaths of their husbands by writing books, and I am guessing that is where some of Ann Coulter's attitude comes from. I agree. I lost alot of FDNY friends when 9-11 happenend. I spent some time there during the search and rescue. I went to alot of funerals. I KNOW for a fact that the FDNY widows received more than a million dollars( Red Cross, FDNY widows and Children Fund, etc....), and the ones I know have misused the funds. Some have received up to 5 million dollars. Which in mind will never replace their loved one.

Oh yeah...I almost forgot that I live in VA.
I think it's ironic that 90% of the time she's on interviews she's dressed in mini-skirts.

I agree, he did was exceptional in the aftermath of the attacks....professional and personally, attending countless wakes, and walking girls down the aisle went way above and beyond the boundaries of his job....JMHO

So sad, isn't it. Hit her where it hurts -- in the pocket. I just cannot believe how f'ing hypocritical she is! she accuses these widows of exploiting their husband's deaths and profiting from it. LOOK AT HER!!!!!!!! many people didn't even she knew existed before 9/11. she's made millions since

It is HOW she says things, like you said. A lot of people share her views but the way she says them is totally inappropriate and often downright mean.

Exactly! AND -- what about the Republican 9/11 widows that spoke at the Republican Convention? That's okay?????

I do not agree with the way she says things at ALL. She has no tact or class. But the premise of her statements is a different story.
Todd Beamers wife had a book deal less than a yeat after her husband died.

Re: Ann Coulter
and just to add:
Natalie Hollways father wrote a book called "Aruba". When things hit the media, the families are quick to make $$ off of it. I know someone who's daughter was kidnapped, and they never found her. It didnt make the news, and she certainly didnt write a book. Ann may be crass, but she has a point.
