Annual physicals for kids in elementary school
Do you still do them around their birthday, or do you do it over the summer and closer to the start of school?
We started with a new practice last summer and she had an annual then so I'm not sure if I should make the appointment for around her birthday or over the summer.

Re: Annual physicals for kids in elementary school
I'm not going to be of help, since my kids are both born in May, so I took them in june.
However, when I got the papers for Andrew's school (Catholic school, not sure if it matters), his physical couldn't be dated before May 31st (and had to be in by Sept. 1st - so the summer was a MUST)... hence the reason we didn't go in early May for their b-day, but we went in June.
I would wait and see what the school says.

Thanks! It just says it has to be submitted within 30 days of school starting. I'll call them tomorrow and clarify.

Re: Annual physicals for kids in elementary school
I dont know specifically....but I vaguely remember the law changing regarding when the physical had to be dated.
Something about within the calendar year...
Essentially school districts were requiring physicals be done no earlier than, like the PP said, May 31st for September. But they now cant say that....Now they can only require that they be done within the calendar year.
It was changed b/c of insurance laws or something....
But again I dont remember the specifics...
