Another Baptism Question re: Godparent Qualifications

My brother is set... he's actually a religion teacher and is the dad of my Godson, so he's set in the religious qualification department.

My SIL on the other hand was never confirmed. I know that's a requirement. But I also read that technically, you only need ONE Godparent. So, will it suffice that my brother is super qualified and my SIL will just be a "symbolic" Godmother (but still go through the ceremony that day). OR do I have to ask her to be confirmed?

TIA!

Re: Another Baptism Question re: Godparent Qualifications

From what I understand, mainly from reading on here, each church is different. I know my bff's dh couldn't be his niece's godfather b/c the church said he had to be married in the Catholic church, and he was married in the Episcopal church, even though he had been confirmed and gone to Catholic school. I would contact your church to ask.

Re: Another Baptism Question re: Godparent Qualifications

DSs godfather has only been baptized. His godmother received all the sacraments.

Typically it depends on the church. Ours just wanted 1 godparent to have received all the sacraments. And they never asked for proof or anything of the sacraments being made.
