another bus question
DS will be at his school for the summer session in July & August (he will still be through EI until the end of the summer session). Right now I drive him to school before going to work, but I will be on maternity leave come July so I asked my service coordinator to set up the bus for me for the summer session. She let me know that she was leaving her job recently, but the bus should be all set. Am I supposed to get a phone call from the bus company telling me when DS is going to be picked up/dropped off, and if so approx how long before school starts do they call you?

another bus question
Sadly, I would get the call a day or two before the service starts. I was working from home one and I saw a bus stop in front of the house and was there a few minutes. I went outside and the driver introduced himself that he was doing a "dry run" of the route.
But I would call the bus service and make sure all my paperwork is in to be on the safe side. Since they don't give much notice on the pick up and drop off times.

Ok thank you! I am pretty sure Servisair is the bus company so I will give them a call.

another bus question
Ds's school uses Servisair too. They are very nice on the phone. I used to call a lot b/c of questions and a couple times the bus was late, etc. They are always very nice.

another bus question
Our school uses servisair as well. They do a dry run a day or two before the start of school. They will leave a notice for you if you are not home with an approximate pick up time. The first week there are sometimes some bumps to work out and changes made, but I have always found them to be very good at keeping me aware of changes. Our current bus driver told me this week that the summer routes haven't been done yet. He is trying to get the same route and just keeping his fingers crossed at this point because nothing is done yet. Even DS's school does not have summer class assignments done yet.

I think Servisair does all the bussing for Nassau County special ed.
As someone else said, they do a dry run the week before school starts, if you aren't home, they will leave a note in your mailbox with all the route info and dropoff and pickup times. Some years, we get the note a few days before, I think twice we got it the Friday before school started.
