Another colace question!
How much/how often do I take it?
How will it work? Immediately? Or will I not be able to leave my house for days?

I was taking 2 pills at night. It didn't give me diarrhea...just made me be able to actually go.

I took 2 every morning it was soooo bad!
It didn't make me go really just made it possible. I was truly unable to ..."TMI warning"... get anything out
I was by no means running to the bathroom. I also drank organic apple juice & ate a high fiber cereal every morning.
Also, if you follow your pills with a hot cup of tea it helps move things along a bit faster. It took 6 - 8 hours to worjk for me.
Feel Better 
ETA: I tool Peri Colace (the cvs brand) it has a softner & a laxative.

I take 1-2 at night if I need it......it usually works by the next day for me, but doesn't cause any diarrhea----just lets me 'go'. HTH!

I took 3 every night before bed. My GI doctor said that's the best time AND you can take 10 and it's still safe during pregnancy. It just softens it, not harsh like a laxative, so dont worry. It usually works for me the next morning

Claudine, these were a god send for me!!! I used to take 3 100 mg ones before bed! Feel better!
ETA: If they weren't so expensive, I would be taking them every day even not pregnant!

I took one in the morning and one at night. Its not a laxative, its just a stool softener, so it will just make it easier for you to go...it won't make you housebound - lol
