Another convertible car seat question

So I am thinking of getting a convertible car seat for Mikayla but am wondering how will I lug her around when I go shopping? I usually put the car seat in the cart. She is 4 1/2 months old (almost) and has great neck control, can I just put her in the front of the cart?

Ideas, suggestions welcome

Thanks

Re: Another convertible car seat question

I didn't put DD in the shopping cart until she could sit up.

I always used the infant seat
But then again - DD is still in the infant seat in the car though Chat Icon

So I don't think I helped you Chat Icon

When Andy got too tall for the infant seat but wasn't sitting great on his own, I used to leave the infant seat in the trunk just to use in stores.

I did the same thing for Nate... We moved him into the convertible seat at 4 months and then used the carrier when we went out shopping or out to eat until he was 6 months.

How about an infant carrier? (there are a million varieties...pick one you like) That is how I lugged DD in the grocery store and how I take DS to the grocery store. I'd hold off on sitting in the cart on her own as long as possible as they like to grab things and suck on the cart. (and if you buy one of those cart covers, it's one more thing to wash all the time...) I would also wait until she can sit as well...it's not the same as neck control. You'd hate for her to flop over and bang her head on the metal carts.
