Another Disney question- "magic hours"

So the day we are planning to go to Disney has the extended hours. Do we have to pay something to do that or do we just get to stay? I thought I read somewhere you had to have a park hopper pass or something but how do they determine that once the park would have officially closed? Do you have some kind of pass or ticket?

Re: Another Disney question- "magic hours"

I got this from my Disney Travel Agent site:

Extra Magic Hours

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As a Disney Resort Guest, you will have opportunities to add precious Theme Park and Water Park time to your vacation.

Each day one of the Theme Parks opens an hour early or stays open up to three hours extra after regular Park hours so you can enjoy select attractions. It gives plenty of time to pace yourself and fully enjoy the Parks, while the lines are shorter and the weather is cooler. Valid Theme Park admission and Walt Disney World® Resort ID are required.
Every morning, both Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park* and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park* open to Disney Resort Guests one hour before the normal opening time providing access to all attractions and preferred choice of seating. Valid Water Park admission and Walt Disney World® Resort ID are required for entry.

*During certain times of the year, only one Water Park may be operating. Please check a refurbishment schedule to verify.

Yes!

In the morning, they will only admit resort guests.

For the evening hours, they hand out wrist bands to resort guests and at closing time they basically direct the non-resort guests out of the park.

You dont need park hopper passes but if you don't you can't use the same ticket for say EPCOT and Magic Kingdom on the same day.

What if we only tell them there will be in 2 in the room- its cheaper that way. Do we each NEED a room key?

Yes. The extra magic hours are for registered resort guests.
