ANOTHER Disney Question...About dining

I figure I could get reviews here from people who are more or less used to the same type/quality food I am.

Which places do you like best, whether sit down or quick service at epcot, mk, etc.

Also we are going with dd and have limitd choices on character meals. We are doing a breakfast at o'hana and dinner at the akershus with the princesses.

We are also staying at the animal kingdom lodge so I made a reservation for Boma too.

Any feedback?

Read good things about liberty tavern (I think) at mk.

Any feedback on these or other recommendations?

Oh and chef mickey's and basically all the other character meals are booked.

I love Via Napoli and Raglan Road. They're must-do's for us.

The last time I went to Liberty Tavern was last May for lunch and there were no characters.

We really enjoy breakfast at 'Ohana as it's more laid back and not as frantic as other character meals. You'll see Lilo & Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto and the food comes family style so no getting up and down for food.

Earl of Sandwich is a must-do quick-service for us. We love the Holiday Sandwich that's only available October through early January - basically it's Thanksgiving dinner on a sandwich. It's a good use of counter-service credits if you're on one of the dining plans and they also give a AAA discount.

Earl of Sandwich is sooooo good, and inexpensive IMO.

LOVE Liberty Tree Tavern, but I love Thanksgiving dinner. If you aren't a turkey/fixings fan, you probably won't enjoy it.

We have done breakfast at Ohana and Akersaus and my girls LOVED them as did we.
I have to say, one thing we really enjoyed was the luau dinner show.

My favorite quick service meal used to be at Cosmic Rays in MK but they've gotten rid of the baked chicken, mashed potato & string bean dinner that I loved so now I need to find a new place

Just got back and my kids really enjoyed Akerhaus Princess dinner. The food was good and the princesses were great. We also ate at the Biergarten in Germany. It was a buffet and I thought it was good. The counterservice meals are OK, they are basically fastfood. We ate at the italian restaurant at Hollywood Momma something I can't remember and that was good.

We did the basic dining plan and on the last day we still had 10 snacks left. It was crazy the amount of food given for a counter service and a dinner. Me and DH usually shared a counter service for lunch and the kids and I shared a counterservice breakfast. Thank god Epcot had the food and wine festival and DH and I went to all the booths on our last day and used our snacks up.

The Deluxe Dining Plan is a good choice if you're dining at several Signature Dining venues that require 2 table-service credits, however for most families it's too much food if they've chosen mostly 1 table-service credit meals.

We loved Sunshine Seasons Quick service meal at Epcot. It was a nice big portion of food for only being a QS.

I know lots of people love California Grill (especially just in time for the MK fireworks)..DH & I realized after the fact that the menu really wasnt our cup of tea. We really wish hadnt used 2 points on the one meal.

If you can't get a reservation for Crystal Palace, we did breakfast at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian in October and Pooh and Tigger were there with Snow White, Alice and the Mad Hatter. I think food-wise, the Ohana breakfast was my favorite and it's really cute.

Another reservation that seems to be easier to get is the Garden Grill in Epcot. It's family style, but we thought the food was pretty good and the characters keep circling around (it's a revolving restaurant) so we saw them twice and almost a third time.

My DS loves Handy Manny and Agent Oso, so we also did breakfast at Hollywood and Vine in HS. He loved it, I think it was his favorite. It was Manny, Oso and June and Leo from Little Einsteins.

I personally REALLY like the character meals that are breakfasts. My DS is 4, is up early (6am), so he is really much better earlier in the day and the meals were less crowded than later in the day. What we generally did on those days was to give DS cereal or oatmeal in the room when we got up, DH and I would have coffee and something light, like fruit or a yogurt and then had breakfast at like 10am. Then we would grab a quick service meal at like 5pm. We booked on the later side, as far as getting restaurant reservations, but managed to get these.

For quick service, I really liked the Main St. Cafe in MK for sandwiches and the hotdog place had really good food too.

I don't think you need the Deluxe plan, we had the regular one and it was plenty of food.

For Charactar meals:
We did Crystal Palace for dinner and I'm not really a fan.
We did the princess dinner- Order the chicken it was much better than the beef.
We did breakfast at Vine in HS and it was AMAZING. Buffet but my favorite meal at Disney the waffles are really delish.

We had dinner one night in AK-it was buffet, pretty good.

All of the counter meals we had were fast food and pretty gross.

Both Akershuh and CRT are great for breakfast. I personally prefer CRT, but it's harder to get and more $$$. I've heard good things about Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace. I've never done those though.

1900 Park Fare did not thrill me for Dinner w/Cinderella. Food was blah and it was much larger and noiser than Akershus and Cindy's.

Other than those meals, I never eat sit down breakfast. Takes too much out of prime touring time.

Quick Service for L/D I like:
At MK: Cosmic Ray's and Columbia Harbor House.
At EPCOT: Sunshine Seasons. Some people rave about Tangeirine Cafe. I thought it was just ok.
AK: Restaurantasaurus isn't bad. Also YY has counter service
DHS: Starring Rolls, I actually like ABC Commissary though many don't.

For Table Service you can't go wrong with really anything at World Showcase. In particular I like Teppan Edo, Via Napoli, and San Angel Inn.
I actually enjoy Sci Fi Dine In a lot. The atmosphere is fun and the shakes are amazing. The food is eh. Prime Time 50's food is better and is also fun. Mama Melrose is also a standard for us.
At MK - Tony's is just ok. Didn't thrill us. Liberty Tree is ok. My favorite is CRT.
At DAK - Love Yak and Yeti.

Outside the parks - CA Grill during fireworks. Very romantic! We tried both Boma and Ohana for the first time this trip. Both were very good. You have to go there very hungry and ins tretchy pants. LOL. I LOVED Boma, where as DH loved 'Ohana. We had a great view of the fireworks from Ohana
