Another food poisoning/stomach virus victim here
Just got back from FL and I read a few girls were sick these past few days too. I had a bad stomach bug or food poisoning (not sure which) almost the entire time we were down there. Fever, chills, diarrhea. I never called the OB b/c my MIL is a nurse so I just went by her. I ate what I could, drank a TON of water and gatorade and took regular strength tylenol for the fever. I felt SOOO guilty and like the worst possible mother to be, but everything I read said as long as you stay hydrated the baby is fine. Hope you ladies are feeling better!!

I would still call your OB... the bacteria that caused your food poisoning may be cause for concern... but that's just me.
How far along are you???

Good idea, I think I will. I'm 15 weeks and I do think it was more a bug than food poisoning b/c my sister just reminded me that my nephew had this last week and I saw him before I left for FL. What do you think the OB can really do though? Test for bacteria? I feel 90% better now...

When I went to the hospital on News Years day the Dr. said he thought it was a bug or food poisoning either way he did blood and urine test to test if there were bacteria, etc.
All was clear...
Hope you feel 100% soon!

The "non-alarmist" doctor of the practice called me back (Dr. Bergman for those who know him). He said regardless if it was food poisoning or a bug, I did everything I should have and I don't need to come in for any testing. Is it weird that I was hoping he'd say I should come in? Eh, I think I need to relax a bit.

Re: Another food poisoning/stomach virus victim here
I had a stomach virus a little over a month ago. I went to my regular doctor and he sent me to a lab. Wanted to make sure there was no weird bacteria or parasite. It wound up just being a virus. But better safe than sorry.
