Another furniture question, pine or no pine?

My mom works at Fortunoff and can get an amazing discount on Legacy ( a well known bran) furniture. The pine set I can get for really cheap and the hardwood set I can also get for a little more money. Anyone have experience with both? PLEASe, please, please.
TIA

I do not have pine furniture, however someone on here bought a pine crib and said that it was very soft wood...that it got marked up very easily-I remembered this when buying our furniture and went with a darker wood. Hope this helps a little!!

I would get the harder wood- pine really is soft and will ding and dent very easily.

pine is a soft wood
get pine if you don't mind the "distressed" look that use can cause. If not, get a hard wood. We are going w/ a natural Maple, which is a hard wood.

Thanks guys, I am probably leaning to the harder wood. I was just looking to save a few extra bucks but it may not be worth it.
