another hair coloring question
for those who dye their hair....did you go back to your natural color while TTC??????????????? (I know Leslie has said she did). For those who go lighter, did you consider your natural color plus some hi-lights?
I'd look really stupid if I just suddenly let my roots come in for 9 months of pregnancy. But I don't think I'll become pregnant quickly and really don't want to go back to my natural color indefinitely. It's actually a pretty color but it's like it really belongs on a person w/ different skin tone.
Also, I think I would have to change the cut if I wanted to rock my natural color.

Re: another hair coloring question
Kerie I dont know if this is true or not but my hairdresser said that if one DOES highlight during pregnancy, that highlighting through a cap is a better choice over foil. Personally, I dont like cap highlights so I went back to one solid color rather than highlighting or else I'd be blonde right now. I can tolerate it for temporarily butI see where you are coming from. After I have my first child (whenever that may be) I will return to foil highlights.

Re: another hair coloring question
My hair would suffer a lot of damage if I had to pull through a cap. I don't know if I would really do any type of hi-lights all over because I already have color on my hair and that would mean bleach hi-lights, which are so drying. I do have a few foils in the front right now though.
Anyway, your hair looks great.
I had my hair touched up today and it really needed to be done 2 weeks ago! I considered making the change back to my natural color today but I didn't.

Re: another hair coloring question
I am a hairdresser, who foil highlighted my hair my entire pregnancy. I had the okay from my Doc. According to him, its kinda old school the whole you can not color your hair thing. He said there has never been a study that has shown, any negative effects from hair dye. I breathed in hair dye all nine months(and so did the other 16 girls at my salon) we dyed our hair, we had hair dye and bleach on our hands on a regular basis, and all our little ones are just fine. If you want to go the extra safety mile stick with the old way of not coloring the 1st trimester. You can still foil highlight, it does not touch the scalp. But I really believe its okay, and its good for you to feel pretty and good about the way you look when your pregnant. That IS good for the baby.

Re: another hair coloring question
That's interesting to know. I always wondered (and worried) about the pregnant women who work at my usual salon!

My doctor said the same thing. She said if I HAD to keep coloring it, just try not to in the first twelve weeks.
