Another IL vent if you don't mind!

Ok... we made the trip out of state to see them when Connor was only 10 weeks old. Now with this being said, my DH is out of work and we couldn't afford gas money, etc. but we went to make the effort. Well, my IL's didn't come for Xmas and we all knew they weren't coming. That's fine. The problem I have is that they didn't even send us a Xmas card or anything for the kids. They used to before my SIL had her baby. Now I'm sure they've spoiled my SIL's baby, but for Connor, nothing, or Caiden. Then came NYE. They didn't come again. Fine. They said they were going to come for Caiden's B-day which was 1/11. They ended up calling a week before they were suppose to come and said they were sick and couldn't come. (My thing is, how do you know you're going to be sick a week later? ) Once again, they knew they weren't coming a week ahead of time but they still couldn't send him a Bday card. We get a phone call that Friday that they were suppose to be here and they said oh mom's out shopping, etc. Uh... aren't you suppose to be sick? Still haven't heard from them and no card or anything for Xmas, or Caiden's b-day. How rude!!! They really have ignored us since my SIL had her baby. She lives close to them, we don't. It's really unbelievable how they treat her compared to us. We are non existent. They better not expect us to come visit them anytime soon. I'm done with them! They're probably afraid that we'll ask for money since my DH is not working and we have no money to pay the mortgage. My DH has already asked and they told us no. Now this is coming from people who have money but just don't want to help us.

Anyway, I just needed to vent. It's just been a battle from day one and I'm just so done with it. I don't need their cr@p anymore. Thanks for listening!

That is just terrible. Having issues with you and your DH for whatever reasons is one thing, but to take it out on their Grandchildren who are innocent and haven't done anything to anyone is just wrong and disgusting. How do you not send your grandkids anything for Christmas or their Birthday??? Especially knowing your financial situation you would think they would want to make sure the kids got something for Christmas

You know how bad I want to say something!!! It's SOOOO HARD to hold it back. Would it be wrong for me to say something?

They don't even care to see if we still have electric or anything. It's not even like they had to get them toys, but at least a card, something. And Caiden this year is 3 yrs old and was soooo excited about Santa coming. It was his first "real" Xmas. You'd think she'd care to make sure he had something under the tree, but no! Thank goodness my mom got him his toys for us this year since we don't have the money. She even got us our tree. It's funny how my parents who are also broke found a way to make sure the kids are taken care of so they enjoy their Xmas, and the IL's who have all the money didn't do a d@mn thing!!! But they found a way to go to Maine for a relative's party???

I would be mad too. Actually, I am in a similar situation with ILs.

I suggest you stop making the effort. If they don't care, then why should you? If DH wants to bother with them, then let him but you don't have to.
