Another MMR question....
If you split them up, when did you do the chicken pox vaccine? For personal reasons, I do not want to delay that, but I am not sure I want it together with anything else. I plan to follow everything my doctor has in mind except that I will request to split the MMR vaccine. I was going to ask her to come up with a schedule for me. Should I propose the schedule myself?

Re: Another MMR question....
I didn't split up the shot- my DD had MMR and chicken pox together and DD had reaction to the chicken pox shot about 7 days later- which is normal. My step sister gave her DD chicken pox at 15 months and has yet to give MMR in split doses... so maybe you can do that? She was going to start the split doses at age 2.

I have to think about it. I think I want to start the process at the usual age for MMR, just delay things by splitting them or if I delay it b/c of the chicken pox shot, that's okay. He's in daycare twice a week and I do want him to be immunized early but safely.

Re: Another MMR question....
We split the MMR, so DD got the measles and chicken pox vaccine at the same visit.

Re: Another MMR question....
My doctor did the MMR one month then chicken pox the following month - The recommendation for MMR is 12 - 15 months - and I think the rec for Chicken pox is 12 months -- so you could do the chicken pox at 12 months then the MMR the following month (or if you are breaking up the MMR - then split it up between months 13-15).
