Re: Another organic question
I dont like the pesticides in non organic foods. There has been a study I saw somewhere that said basically that if you substitute atleast one meal with organics that the level of pesticides in a little body will drop dramatically. I dont think little growing bodies need those chemicals. ALSO, there has been a study that non organic cows milk that contain growth hormone has lead to the early menstruation in young girls... again, not so good... But of course you find one study for it and one against, for me I choose to believe that the chemicals cant be good for you and go the organic route when possible.

Re: Another organic question
I used to when Jeremy ate the jarred food. Now I buy organic veggies, fruits, meats, milk, cheeses, snacks... I TRY to buy as much organic/natural as I can. Yes, it is more expensive but it makes me feel better about what Im feeding the kiddies.

Same.
Buy and organic piece of fruit and a regular one. Watch how long the regular piece will last. It really makes you wonder what is in it that makes it seem to last forever compared to an all natural piece of fruit. Just like I don't think babies little bodies need 4 vaccinations at once and at such a young age I don't think they need pesiticides, preservtives, hormones, etc that are in non organic foods.

Re: Another organic question
I buy organic for the reasons Karen listed.
I don't normally buy the jars, I tend to make my own food for now, except peas. My boys hate my peas and will eat the organic jarred ones.
Just and FYI, some fruits and veggies they are no difference in organic vs non organic, since not a bunch of pestisides get into the fruit, like a banana, there is not a big difference between the two.

same for all the reasons Karen mentioned.
Aidan only drinks organic milk except for the odd cup here and there if out to eat or someones house, etc. (Love Starbucks, they have Horizon milk boxes ) Reg milk has alot of hormones and antibiotics.
If I can get organic I do, but I don't make myself crazy. Like someone else said I don't think some things make a big difference like bananas or bread. But every little bit helps, especially since my son eats fruit at every meal, and for snacks as well.
I honestly don't care at all about the cost, I think about the things I would think nothing of wasting money on, a few more cents for wholesome food is worth it to me.
some reading.. WEdMD - Worth the money?
Business Week article
This one says which food items typically have highest lowest levels.
I had a better hi/lo pestiside chart somewhere but cannot find it now

Re: Another organic question
Thank you for all the info!
Now that she is just starting to eat a little fruit, this is something I have been thinking about.

Re: Another organic question
Organic food (in my opinion) tastes better! So not only do I feed Talia organic food - I try to only buy organic foods for me and my Dh as well.

Re: Another organic question
Andrew hated the organic jarred foods. But now he gets organic regular milk and I try to buy organic vegetables (which he may or may not eat depending).
Same reasons as everyone else...
