another question about teh 175 hours...
The 175 hours are for when you get your provisional corrct. While you hold an initial licesnce you dont have to complete these am i correct?

you have it turned around...
Provisional certificate is under the OLD guidelines. NO 175 hours.
The initial certificate is basically the same as a provisional (you need to teach for 2 years, get a masters, etc.) before it becomes professional. (Permanent under the old guidelines). INITIAL certificates require the 175 hours.
we all end up doing them (superintendent conferences, outside conferences, coaches in the school, etc.... it's just that INITIAL certificate holders have to be sure it's all documented. your district should be helping you with this.

Sorry i meant professional you are right.. i just looke dit up and for initial yu dont have to do the hours for prodfessional you do every 5 years to maintain the license.

Validity: Continuously valid with completion of required professional development hours on a five-year professional development cycle.
