Another Question for the Experts
Ok, so as my previous post stated, I'm newly preggos (yay!)
Now, I'm in a wedding in about a month. I start my fittings 6/2/08. I'm wearing a spanx thingy. Are those ok to wear while expecting? I'm sorry, probably such a stupid question. The spanx thing is comfortable, but I don't want it hurting me, do you know what I mean?
Thanks

IF this is your 1st, you probably won't be showing at all, you'll have nothign to worry about.

ITA. But, if you are concerned about it, most maternity stores sell spanx for pregnant women. I've been wearing them alot lately and they are totally comfortable.

You should be okay and regular spanx are just fine!

Re: Another Question for the Experts
you're roughly 5-6 weeks now?
I'll be honest, after about 7 weeks, I would never imagine being able to wear anything even remotely constricting around my belly....
I found even my regular jeans (which were not snug at all) to be too confining. It's not that they didn't fit, it was more that the slightest bit of pressure on my waist (from a waistband that wasn't elastic) was so exceptionally irritating that I had to unbutton my pants.... even if I was in the car or at work
My personal advice would be to bet that you won't be able to wear regular spanx... so don't wear it at the fittings. (however, I never heard of maternity spanx, which likely would be comfy still...)
As for sizing, if the wedding is before 12 weeks, I suspect you wouldn't increase in size at all... if you increase, it would probably be a 1/2-1 size at most... so just make sure the dress isn't snug in the abdominal area, and it will fit perfectly on the wedding day......

Re: Another Question for the Experts
I agree...starting around 7 weeks or so I didn't want anything tight around my belly. I felt so bloated and it got worse as the day wore on, but looking back now I was so tiny!

i was the same way... but if you are worried about it hurting the baby in any way, no, it won't. you might me uncomfortable but the little bean is VERY well cushioned in there!
