Another spinoff question to taking baby out
I know my dr. explained it to me, but when a newborn gets a fever and has to go to the hospital, why do they give them a spinal tap? My dr. mentioned something about meningitis. Are babies really suseptible to that? How old are they when this dangerous fever period is over and they don't do the spinal tap?

Re: Another spinoff question to taking baby out
I'm guessing 2 months when they start getting shots, since that's when we were told it was ok to start bringing the kids to stores, family events with other kids, etc.

Its 2 months becasue Molly was in the hospital at 6 weeks and all the docs were glad she never got a fever...then at 8 weeks they told me she was in the clear for the danger of a newborn fever.
