Another spinoff to shopping carts and carseats.

At what age did you start to just put DC in the shopping cart without the carseat?

I know it all has to do with being able to sit on their own, but im just curious.

Bella is 6 months and we just started. She's still wobby, but it is better than hearing her scream because she wants out of the carseat.

When DS was able to sit up on his own - maybe 6 or 7 months. Nate reached the height limit on the carrier pretty early, so we had to move him into the convertible seat at 4 months. We kept the carrier in the car to use when we went shopping or out to seat.

I waited until he was about 7 months and out of his infant seat.

Started between 6 and 7 months. But, if I am wil DH I still wheel him in the stroller while DH wheels the cart.

About 9 months...I couldn't wait for this day to come because DD absolutely hated her infant seat. Now...she's such a gem to take the grocery store...before she could sit up, I would leave her home with DH Chat Icon

Just started this past week at 6 mths. She now LOVES going to the store. She sits up unsupported and her seat cover has a little pillow that helps support her too.

I saw a really good inexpensive tip in a parenting magazine. Take a cloth diaper and put velcro on the ends and then wrap it around the bar of the cart. That way the baby can knaw on that, not the cart. You can throw it in the washing machine when you are done.

Maybe around 7 months. DD was throwing a fit in the infant seat in Target so I took her out & put her in the shopping cart. She was a little wobbly but she loved it!!
