Another spinoff: What food smells do you love?
For me:
-bacon
-garlic/onions in olive oil
-a good bakery (a light sweet smell-not that heavy oily smell)
-my yiayia's dolmades (stuffed grape leaves)
Thanksgivng dinner (turkey & sausage stuffing)

I love most food smells. I have a lot of strong memorized emotions tied to food. My father taught me a lot of cooking. Each time I smell something it's like it triggers these warm feelings from being a sprout in my father's kitchen.
Among my top favorites:
Garlic & onions cooking in olive oil..
Chicken soup simmering on a cool day
Cinnamon rolls puffing up in the oven on a Winter morning
Lemon bars right out of the oven in Spring
Tomato Sauce warming up the kitchen
The spicy scent of arroz con pollo when you first pull off the lid on the pot
Yeast.. be it in rising bread dough, a fresh loaf in the oven or even the scent of a cold beer on a hot day.
Oranges. I love the smell of oranges - especially on a boat or at the beach.

Just thought of another one... the coffee aisle at Fairway. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but that aisle smells like heaven!
