Another step closer to closing, but now I have a whole bunch of new questions!
So we got our termite inspection and our appraisal done. We now need to get home owners and a closing date (of cuorse my REA is on vacation and I can't get any info from her til next week. Doesn't she know I am impatient!!!! )
So what happens now? And what info will I need for the home owners policy?

call 516-746-2150 Haller Zaremba Agency.
You will need to tell them where the house is, and size of the house (you can get this from the listing, or the inspection report). they will guide you in how much to insure and what...
that's simple.
you just need to wait for your mortgage broker to tell you "we have clear to close" before you can schedule a date.
buying a home truly can test your patience!

After our inspection and termite inspection, we had to provide the mortgage people w/ a ton of documents. U should check w/ your bank to see what other documents they'll need so you can start to gather everything. GL!

Re: Another step closer to closing, but now I have a whole bunch of new questions!
I would shop around for homeowner's insurance. DH and I did not do this and ended up paying more than necessary (you only need ins for the replacement cost of the home NOT the price you are buying the house for) and 2 yrs later am finally getting around to shopping for a better rate. Call different ins agencies and give them the replacement cost which should be listed on your Appraisal.
After you get ins. call your RE attorney and he/she will talk to the bank's attorney about setting the closing date. It is all about the bank's attorney... Good luck sweetie!! Where are you guys buying?
