Another swing set question
I want to get a swing set for my son. My son is 18 months right now and a very cautious kid. I am expecting twins this summer. So i want somewhting that he can use without me right on top of him always. But also something that will last for at least 5 years
Also we do not have a large yard at all - atually it very narrow - the width of our backyard is abut 129 inches (12 feet 9 inches) - the length is over 30 feet
also my dh is severly allergic to bees and when we bought the property it had a lot of bees including carpenter bees tht eat wood and yello jackets - so we have removed almost all the wood from around the house- we have also designed it to be low maintenance
so with all that what swing set would you get - also if you have any experience with any of these please let me know
1. Little tikes endless adventures Dimensions 168.00"L x 111.60"W x 104.40"H includes spots for two swings and a glider
2. Step 2 naturally playful - small dimensions 115L x 110W x 75H inches includes spots for 2 swings
3. Step 2 naturally playful set large dimensions 201L x 88.5H x 102.5W inches includes spots for 2 swings and a glider
4. Get a small wood play set

Re: Another swing set question
I would go with a wood one. They last MUCH longer and your childrenc an grow into it. The ones you posted will last you 2, MAYBE 3 summers before you will have to get a larger one.
You can have the wood sealed every year to prevent bugs.

Re: Another swing set question
We have the Little tykes by default, it came with our new house.
The rope climber - one of the wooden pieces broke, to replace it is about $72. with shipping/tax. DD hates the slide, the swings are on ropes that are fraying, but you can replace them fairly easily. I like that there is no wood, but am finding that the plastic is warpped in the playhouse part above the slide. ETA: Not sure if the previous owner goofed, but the part under the slide that has a sand box was filled with gross water after this crazy winter. DH used a leaf blower when he was blowing the leaves and got the water out. It holds 200 pounds of sand the lady at LT told me when I called about replacing the rope climber, which BTW you cannot do with a person, they direct you to the web site for everything. Make sure it's anchored correctly. At 18m you will most likely have to lift him up to the slide, he may not like the wave of it (my DD is a total daredevil so her dislike is not a girly thing). You can switch out the swings for the 2 in 1 snung n secure swing, which I am getting for my 21m old. They sell them at BRU and TRU. We still have our old LT slide, which is a stand alone slide, my kids both like that for sliding, even the 3 year old. I'll try to attach the pic, its the Endless Adventures, Easy store large slide, perfect I think for an 18m old.
We are considering Wood Kingdom. While I hate wood (my DD got splinters from a friend's wood set - not WK), I have a friend who has them come and seal the wood and basically "tune up" the set annually. I want to learn more about I think Rainbow Play systems... some of their sets look really cool! I'm with you about maintanence, but I think WK charges my friend about $175 to check the bolts and make sure everything is good to go as well as sealing the wood. Image Attachment(s):
