ANOTHER UPDATE: Speedy is home!!
She threw up few times on Tuesday and again yesterday morning and now she doesnt want to eat anything (and she eats all the time!!!) she seems to have less energy too... she looks a little bit better this morning and she licked some food but still hasnt eaten... you think I should take her to a vet or just observe her for now?

Re: Cat throwing up
I'm of the mind set of "rather be safe then sorry" so I would take her to the vet.

Re: UPDATE (at the bottom) Cat throwing up
So happy to hear your kitty is OK
My cat Mia the same problem last week.. it went on for days. She was throwing up quite a bit, not eating at all (and trust me this cat EATS) and she seemed soooo lethargic.. Since Mia has only thrown up like 2x in ALL the time we've had her, I really started worrying
Turned out the day I made the appointment for the vet, she was back to her normal self, eating and going nutty..
SO glad that your Speedy will be fine
Feel better from Mia to Speedy

I am just hoping that maybe it takes time for the medicine to work... I just dont want to put her through going to the vet again cause she gets so scared when she is outside... oh well, we will see today when I come home... at least she drinks water, so thats good...

Re: UPDATE (at the bottom) Cat throwing up
Oh boy this sounds like what happened to my kitty few months back, he was puking and puking, wouldnt eat, they gave me meds to get his appetite back, he threw that up, needless to say after a week in the hospital, ultrasounds, xrays and possible surgery, my kitty ate fishing line and thank god puked it up on his own without the surgery. Did you have tinsel on your christmas tree or ribbon of any kind that he could have chewed on? if so its very important to take him back and let the vet know of that possiblity, by luck I found in the garage DH's fishing hook cut off of his line from the fishing pole and I called the vet right away and asked could that be it- they did not know even after doing the xrays and ultrasound they couldnt see it thats why surgery was next. Dont wait take kitty back asap, GL and many

Oh no, Aga, I hope the kitty is ok. Its amazing how we find out how bad some items we use can be harmful to our pets. For Dogs and Cats any kind of string, ribbon, tinsel, thread, anything stringy, that they chew on when digested wraps itself around the intestines and can kill our pets or harm them very badly. I was very lucky that my kitty was able to puke up the ball, you had to see how much he threw up, the vet couldnt believe it and had that went into his intestines my kitty could have died trying to puke it up, it tightens up and acts like a blade against the intestine walls. Your kitty is drinking water though so thats a good sign. Please keep us updated and many

Re: UPDATE (at the bottom) Cat throwing up
thank you everyone for your kinds words... so we went to the vet and she told us that Speedy wasnt getting any better and to take her to a hospital... so we went to Manhattan, there is an animal hospital at 62nd and York Ave and they admitted her there... I feel like I am to blame for whatever is happening to her anyways, she is going to stay there for couple of days, she is dehydrated and she still hasnt eaten or pooped... hopefully, they can help her and she can come home soon...

I feel horrible! oh crap!, ok its ok, did they tell you that her recovery for surgery in the abdomen/intenstine area has a very long and painful recovery for them? just so you know if your kitty is quiet. At least they see it, with my kitty they didnt see it and were going to do observatory surgery! imagine that, opening up the cat and not knowing what you are looking for. Awww poor Speedy but at least now she will be better, lots of hugs for her
what a good mommy you are too! do you know most pet owners dont see puking as a necesary to bring them to the vet. YOu did WONDERFUL!!!!
