anti med people a question
now ive seen alot of posts about people anti meds and want to fix things naturally or with therapists etc.. and im all for that but why the antimed thoughts?
im one who's all for meds..a pill for everything is my motto (no joke)... just reupped my xanax..and plan to be on it for a long time.. i know why i panic/have anixty it won't change so ill deal with it with meds...
totally not attacking anyone.. just really curious why it seems so many people here are antimeds...
(my brothers one of them but he can't really tell me why " ..
id love to hear a lot of different point of views on this....

I take meds, but they do make me nervous. If I knew there was a guaranteed natural way to treat an ailment, I'd prefer that method.
I've had bad reactions to some medications, and have almost lost both my parents on different occassions to drug interactions.

I'm not anti-med, but I would prefer NOT to take anything if I don't have to. Your body is supposed to be self-cleaning and self-healing in a lot of ways and I'd prefer to give my body the chance to heal on its own. I think that there are just so many drugs on the market and who's to say what the long term effects are. Pills are essentially chemicals and I get nervous about how long those chemicals are invading our systems.

Also, I feel that so many drugs just mask the symptoms but don't actually treat the problem. Sometimes that's okay, but sometimes it sets up a lifetime of dependency.

I agree also. In addition it scares me that the liver is the only filter we have. It is not just an endless supply of filtering and I want to make sure I have it when I need it.

I am definitely not anti-meds but every drug has side effects and sometimes we do not even realize what they are until we stop taking something.
