Anti Nuclear Antibodies
My friend is going to another RE but was just found to have Anti Nuclear Antibodies. Does Dr. B test for this, did anyone come up positive for this and/or does anyone have any information on how they treat this?
I appreciate any help you can offer.
Thanks so much.

Re: Hey Dr. B patients, I have a question for you for a friend....
My ANA levels were elevated last summer. My PC doctor sent me to a rheumotologist(?) for further testing.

Yes, that is what she has been recommended to do. But, she is supposed to start her cycle in a few weeks and doesn't think she can get that appointment in time and not sure what kind of treatment is involved in that.
Can I ask you what the outcome was with the Rheumotologist? Did you have to just take something extra when you cycled?

lola - sorry, I just saw your post that your cycle was canceled. I'm so sorry. Don't worry about that. Each cycle is totally different. I know many many people who had a bad cycle and went on to have success with IVF. It may be the meds or just this month your body was acting funny. I know its disappointing though.

Re: Hey Dr. B patients, I have a question for you for a friend....
Actually my ANA levels were elevated before I was TTC. I wasn't feeling right and went for routine bloodwork. The rheumatologist retested and all was fine. I had an underlying issue but it had nothing to do with my ANA level. I would tell her to talk to her RE and let him know about the elevated ANA level. Is Dr. B her RE? If he is, she should ask him for sure. He is very familiar with that kind of stuff.

Awww....thanks so much. I was kind of bummed but Dr. B wants to go with the IUI's for this cycle. Let's see what happens. It's my first time going through any of this and I am trying to just be really cool with everything.
If you have any other questions about your friend feel free to fm me.
