Re: Antibiotic Question Zithromax...My dh was diagnosed with bronchitis yesterday and started the Z-pack yesterday afternoon. I'm hosting Passover tonight and I'm not sure what to do...he planned to stay in the bedroom, but my dad has a comprimised immune system and I don't want him getting sick...

They kill the bacteria on contact I would day about 10-24 hours. It takes bacteria approx 20 minutes to divide and these meds catch up quick thats why there are only a few days. The only thing is he may feel worse because the antibiotics allow the body to catch up and increase the immune response. As far as contagious and your dads medical I would just have my DH join us for dinner if he is up to it and stay a distance away.
