Any 5K runners out there?
How long would it take to train for this....starting as a very beginner??

you can find training guides on line for free. All depends on your current fitness level. Some can do a 5K with no training (although you might be sore afterwards).
I recently got into running and I am up to 4 miles. I have still yet to run a race, but I am considering it for motivation reasons.

I've been considering starting to train for a 5k (to get me back to excercising because I've been hating it lately).
Anyone know of any good 5k charity runs coming up?

nyrr.org has races. There is a 5mile Poland Spring run this sunday...Ill be there...hopefully running!
Also, runningcoach.com has some helpful advice.
Also Active.com has other races.
