Any BF moms doing Weight Watchers?
I'm on my 5th week, and I'm actually a little bit concerned that I'm losing weight too quickly This has never been a problem for me, ever.
Don't get me wrong, I am THRILLED about how quickly the weight is coming off since I have a lot to lose, but how much is too much?
I've been on for 4 weeks and I've lost 5 lbs. a week!
I'm just hoping to get some insight from other BF moms about this. I talked to my WW leader, but I think only other nursing moms would know if this is how it goes or not.
Thanks

I am doing WW and am not losing nearly as fast as you are. Are you strictly nursing and giving yourself the extra 10 points?
My weight loss has been very slow. At 11 weeks, I've lost only 9 pounds. I've had friends who aren't nursing lose 4-5 pounds a week. Please don't take this the wrong way- are you very overweight? My best friend who lost over 100 pounds had this happen to her when she was starting out. As she started to lose weight and adjusted her weekly points allowance, the weight loss slowed.
If you are following the program and making sure you're eating enough, I wouldn't worry. Otherwise, check with your doctor to make sure something else isn't going on.

Not that I BF while I did WW but typically the MORE weight you have to loose, the faster it comes off in the beginning! Just be sure to eat those extra points!

Yes--I have about 100 lbs. total to lose (now only about 80 ) to get to the suggested weight for me...though at my lowest I was 30 lbs. above that and I think that weight was perfect, so we'll see.
You don't have to ask me twice to use ALL of my flex points, either...I use them all up every week. I also gave myself the 10 extra points and I have NO problems eating those, either.
As I said, I'm not at all upset that the weight is coming off so quickly, I just want to make sure that it's not dangerously fast. I've also been watching for a decrease in my supply, but that's been fine too...so who knows?

Re: Any BF moms doing Weight Watchers?
I did it when I was BFing my first. I had about 12 pounds to lose until my suggested weight. In the first two weeks, i lost 3 pounds a week & then it slowed to 1 the next week. I ended up being 2 pounds above my suggested weight & i was perfectly comfortable with that. It's normal to lose faster in the beginning I believe, and as someone said above, the more you have to lose the faster it will come off.
Congrats on the weight loss!

Keep it up!! It's VERY tough to loose weight after a baby! I have put on weight since weaning DS in January and I have gained back about 10 pounds and I think I need to go get some new WW material & just start doing it!!
Thanks for inspiring me!!

The new program is great. Very easy to stick to. Of course, I say that now, while I get the 10 extra points for BF. Once I lose that, things might get a bit more difficult--I told DH I'm going to nurse until DD starts Kindergarten!
