Any computer experts around?
My laptop won't start. I tried putting in the windows CD and hit repair so that I wouldn't lose anything but it says it can't detect a hard drive!  
Any suggestions or am I going to have to reformat? I have two presentations on there for next week and I really really really don't want to start over!

No expert at all but have you tried unplugging it taking out the battery and then restarting it?

Do you hear any noises, any clicking?
Turn it over, and make sure everything is still in there securely.

Okay I have the windows CD in there now....I am looking up some stuff on microsoft I think it's going to help I had made some progess and then it shutt off for no reason

Glad you fixed it but BACK THAT HARD DRIVE UP!!!  Do you have a CD burner? Get all the stuff you can't live without... documents, pictures, music etc. and burn it!
I had one major hard drive loss years ago and vowed never again! You don't realize how important this stuff is until you don't have it anymore.
