Any cool "Life Hacks" for your home?
Does anyone have any cool "Life Hacks" that you've used in your home to make things easier without spending a lot of time or money?
I used a grab bar instead of a towel bar in DC's bathroom so they could grab onto the bar without pulling it out of the wall (like they did with the previous towel bar...). It looks like a towel bar, and it didn't cost much more than a nice towel bar, but so much more useful.
I use camouflaged rope from Harbor Freight to tie up some of my bushes to keep the snow from weighing down the bushes and splitting them apart. With the green rope, it's almost invisible.
Instead of wiring up a 3-way switch for my basement stairs, I just plugged in a cheap motion-detector light. It lights up the stairs well enough to see the steps, and accomplishes what I wanted to do, without any rewiring.

The only "hack" I think I did, was to buy an inexpensive coat rack for DD's room, then spray paint it pink and then a light dusting of silver sparkles to "bling" it up. Oh, I also bought Dollar Tree frames and sprayed them silver for my bedroom, and navy blue for DS's room...instead of paying several dollars for each that I wanted in specific colors.

I have a whiteboard calendar near the front door. Great place to put important activities, shopping lists, to-do list, etc.
I have a Google Calendar and on-line lists, but having the whiteboard is a great place to put stuff temporarily, especially as we're just entering or leaving the house.

I have pull down attic stairs, so I installed a grab bar on the roof joist above the opening to make getting up and down a lot easier.

Any cool
We installed a "doggie door" from our home leading into our garage for our cats. We keep their food and litter box in there. Zero smell and mess inside.

Its not anything genius but I bought a hanging shoe organizer and put it in our coat closet. We take off our shoes as soon as we get in the house, so everyone can just throw them in here. Its hand in the winter too for hats, glove, etc.
Shoe Organizer
This is a great post, I like reading what other do.
