Any Dr. Braverman patients out there?
I've graduated from him weeks ago but still value his opinion.
I was wondering what is his take on the swine flu vaccine? Is he recommending it? Are you going to get it?

Ooohhh I was thinking the same thing. As a matter of fact DH just said to me 'did you remember to ask the dr about the flu/swine flu shot'
I really dont think I'll be getting the swine flu shot....I'm too scared b/c its so new.

Me either. My OB is totally insisting that I get it but my gut is telling me not to.

Nope, couldn't make me get it. I would offer to sign a waiver if he wants...or find another doctor that is more patient orientated!!

Not sure if this helps, but Dr. B referred me to Dr. Kofinas the high risk doctor once I got pregnant. Dr. Kofinas is recommending that we don't get the Swine Flu. He said the regular flu shot is fine as long as you get it in your second trimester and it doesn't contain preservatives.

Re: Any Dr. Braverman patients out there?
I'm going to e-mail Dr. B and ask him. I'd like to know his take on it too. My OB (Rosenberg from University Plaza) recommends it and actually gave me the regular flu shot. I started getting that when DS was a baby bc he was too young to get it. I am leaning against the swine flu shot for myself and for DS too, but that decision isn't written in stone. Something in my gut is just telling me not to get it and its not bc its new bc all flu shots are new every year. I just have this feeling.....anyway I will let you know what he says.

E-mail from Dr B. This makes me think....I was kind of hoping he'd say no lol!
I do highly recommend it. American College of obgyn has been pushing every ob to be sure every preg patient gets it death rate highest among preg women with swine flu and we just don't know how it mutated over the summer the vacc is safe made the same as all flu vacc

Yup this is what he told me. He also recommended it for my 3 1/2 year old DS. He said that he won't recommend the flu/swine right this second for me b/c I'm in the middle of an IVF cycle, but once preggo he does!
