Any experience with TTTS?

I'm almost 17 weeks along, and I haven't been diagnosed with TTTS at the moment, but yesterday I went for my Level II at high risk practice, and they were concerned about their being a decreased amount of fluid around Baby A compared to Baby B. I have to go back next week when the dr who specializes in this is there to do another ultrasound, and it's hard to not freak out right now. I was told by my OB that if I needed laser surgery that they do it at Winthrop. Right now they are measuring the same otherwise. Anyone have any experience with this? It's just hard not to feel down. Re: Any experience with TTTS?

My boys started developing it around 34 weeks. The weigh differential was hovering around the line, but they let them go another two weeks and then took them at 36 weeks. The boys were fine, just came a month early.

I know they have laser surgery should it happen earlier in pregnancy that can be successful. There is also a foundation for parents going through this. Just google TTTS and foundation and you should be able to find it. They have a lot of information and advice on there.

Hang in there....I remember being very apprehensive about this. Chat Icon

Re: Any experience with TTTS?

At 12 weeks the original perinatologist I was using said they thought the twins may be experiencing TTTS. I went for a follow up u/s a few weeks later and the babies were measuring equally again.

It is something they'd consistently monitor for, but it didn't come up again until 37 weeks which at that point I was full term and they did the c-section.
