Re: Any good homeade hummus recipes?
I don't really follow a recipe but it is really simple. I take 2 - 15 oz cans of drained chickpeas put that in a food processor with 1-2 cloves of garlic. I use about a half a clove because I always think it's too garlicky but if you like garlic then 1-2 should be fine, you can always add more. Then I add about 3 tbsp of tahini, a tiny bit of cumin, some olive oil and some water (just so the consistency isn't so pasty). Blend everything together in a food processor
eta lemon juice, I forgot until I saw other posters, I do add this to my hummus. Usually only about a half a lemon

I do the same as above. I omit the tahini, olive oil and water. I add lemon juice. Sometimes I add a jar of roasted peppers to give it a different flavor.
I serve it with pitas, cut into pieces. I spray them with Pam and sprinkle garlic all over them. I toast until brown and crunchy.

Re: Any good homeade hummus recipes?
olive oil S&P Tahini Fresh lemon Goya chic peas Fresh garlic
I eyeball most of the ingred.I start by heating 2 cans of chic peas.I like mine lumpy so I smash them up. Most people use a blender. I add 1-2 lemons,2-3 tbls.tahini,3-5 cloves of garlic, and olive oil, S&P to taste. If I have fresh parsley in the house,I sometimes add that in at the end

I got mine at waldbaums but I've seen it at other stores. Usually in the ethnic aisle or the aisle with the beans.
