Any good suggestions on selling an e-ring?
A friend of mine called off their engagement, and her ex told her to keep the ring. She wants to sell it--I think she went to a pawn shop and they only offered like $40 for it! She said she knows he paid around $1500 for it, so she can't take such a small amount.
Does anyone know of a place that would be good?

I would try Craigslist or Ebay.
She'll get more for it if she sells it privately.

Honestly if he only paid $1500 for it, I can't see her getting much for it.

yeah that's what i was thinking too.
i get that she won't get retail value for it--but $40!!! that's ridiclious. i think expecting 1/3rd of what was paid for it isn't asking a lot. she really just wants about $500 for it...but she just couldn't imagine taking less than 5% of the retail value.

It depends. If the diamond is small and if it is bad quality they are really only going to look at the weight of the gold and want that. And for one ring, I can't see her getting much.

Re: Any good suggestions on selling an e-ring?
I know my ex-fiance paid 5K for my engagement ring and he went to sell it in the diamond district (same place he bought it) and they only gave him $1500! Its worth so much less when its "used." Which is totally ridiculous...
