Any Halloween damage?

The kids on our neighborhood are pretty good. The only thing I saw this morning was a little bit of shaving cream on the driveway. I saw a tiny bit of TP near one house, but I didn't see anything destructive on my way to work.

How did everyone else fare?

Same here, I actually didn't notice anything. And we have a pretty yappy dog who hears a spider crawling and she was quiet all night. It was a good year. Chat Icon

Up by where we are, they do all of the "tricks" on the 30th (weird!) We have a little bit of toilet paper in front of our house.

They didn't seem to do anything destructive overall - just a lot of toiletpaper and some post it note decorations on friends cars...

The 30th isn't weird. They know that cops, homeowners, and trick-or-treaters are on patrol on the 31st, so if they do stuff on the 30th, they are less likely to get caught.

not weird.. in NJ, we call the 30th "mischeif night", becasue thats when the kids do all the "bad" stuff. not too bad this year though... only some TP in trees around the neighborhood. DH and i brought our pumpkins and stuff inside that night so they would be safe...

Re: Any Halloween damage?

Didn't see too much - mostly just some silly string and bunches of smashed pumpkins this morning.

I was so annoyed, at around 10:15 last night, some little SH*TS knocked on our door. We were watching TV and out of candy so we didn't answer (our porch light was off.) We heard them through the door saying "They're there, they're just chillin" so I yelled "We don't have any more candy. Sorry."

We heard them leave, but DH went out to check that they hadn't done anything - but they had taken my jack-o-lantern and smashed it in the road. Stupid little pieces of trash. I wasn't that mad at first, but the more I thought about, the more irritated I got. Chat Icon

Re: Any Halloween damage?

I took Daisy for a walk, my neighbor's car was completed covered in shaving cream. Two houses on my street (where teenagers live) were coated in the front with shaving cream, eggs and that silly string stuff, oh and one of those houses had smashed pumkins all around it. Needless to say it was a mine field walking with Daisy in these areas. The street was stained from shaving cream in shapes of gentilia and swear words. They took shaving cream to one of my neighbor's houses (who are really nice) and sprayed the fence up and down with the cream. It's horrendous and they did this in front of two houses that are trying to sell! This type of damage isn't going to look nice for any prospective buyer.

Re: Any Halloween damage?

I was expecting something to happen to our house. The kids that used to live here before we bought the house were very bitter when their parents sold it to us. They egged ours cars before and it wasn't Halloween.

No damage though.Chat Icon

Re: Any Halloween damage?

No damage - thank god. I live in Westchester though. We live in a safe and nice section of Yonkers and lots of times kids from the not safe section come with their parents to trick or treat in my neighborhood. All the kids are so polite and so sweet and (knock on wood) we never had any damage. It is usually the neighborhood kids that are PITA.
