Any home alarm systems have fire related safety measures as well?

anyone know? If you get an alarm, is there something that can help protect you and your home during a fire?

They have it that you can connect your house alarm to your fire alarm.

We opted not to do this because if there is a false alarm, I was told the Fire Dept comes automatically and will bash down your door.

Re: Any home alarm systems have fire related safety measures as well?

We have it connected to our house alarm. I was cooking one day and caused a lot of smoke, well the fire alarm went off and I somehow messed things up when I tried shutting it off from the key pad, next thing I know I had four fire trucks in front of my house with about 8 firemen in my house...I didn't complainChat Icon at least I know it works...basically I reset it and the alarm company wasn't able to call me and make sure everything was ok before dispatching the firemen, which they ALWAYS do they will call you first to make sure it's not a false alarm...

We have our fire alarm and house alarm connected. I use Ackerman Security, however not sure if they are a southern company since I am in Atlanta. I believe ADT also has this service to.

Good to know. Hey, nothing wrong with firemen coming to say hi to me.Chat Icon I will have to do it, when we get an alarm system installed b/c I would worry when my dogs are home alone without me.

When we owned our house in NY our alarm was hard wired(but not activated) somehow it was connected directly to the fire dept-the guy that lived there before was a cop-maybe that is why. We DID have a fire and as my DH called 911 a fireman came in a captain's truck...so I think it is a great thing to have

I worry about my dogs home alone b/c our new house is in a quiet location so I dont know if anyone would see if something was wrong. So we are gonna look into this. Thanks everyone. Good to know~!
