Any ideas for a group vacation??
we haev a big group of friends ( about 15-20 of us) and 2 of them are finishing their 5 year terms in the army this spring, and they are moving back home. we all wanted to go on some kind of a vacation to celebrate them being out and home for good now.... we had thought abotu a cruise, but even the ones leaving from NY that we saw were over $1000 per person- a little more than we wanted to spend. any other ideas???

A group of us (about 14 of us) took a package deal to Paris to see Madonna and it was a good deal. The deals are from the UK but you can email these companies and they will sort out flights, hotels and concert tickets for you if thats your thing!
We saw the ad in the newspaper, they do it for whatever big act is playing. I will see if I can find out more...
eta...this was who I went with, it was about 3 years ago, but there is probably a company out of NY who does it... Tickets and Travel
eta...we also went to Dublin for a weekend and that was fun...our work paid for it so it was even better!!!

What about renting a big house somewhere? Check out VRBO . There are some places that are huge and if you split it over everyone it turns out pretty affordable. Also, if you have a house you can cook meals at home which would save $$.

we are thinking about going to a resort called eastover - my firend has been there a bunch of times and loves it it is in mass about 3.5 hours away and it is byob - they have different theme weekends for all sorts of crowds - they also have pretty decent rates
