Any ideas on what I can do with my son who is 16years old...(please read)

My son made a request for "us" meaning he and I to spend a day together, since the baby will be coming and he thinks I'm not going to have time for him or forget about him Chat Icon I told him I would never forget about him, because he is and will always be my first born. I'm not sure he believes that. I can't say he's jealous..because he is defenitely excited about having a sister...but at the same time I'm sure it's hard for him because for so long it's only been him. While his father is married and has kids...my having another baby seems to be affecting him differently.

Any suggestions ladies??

Did the new "amusement park" in Bayville open up?

Here's the link I think it's open.Bayville Park

They have mini golf, go carts (he would enjoy as u watch) etc. You can eat, grab ice cream after.

Maybe Dave & Busters type place for dinner & games, maybe bowling.

The movies. Chat Icon

That's nice. What about a ball game or concert?

I'd say a ballgame! The Ducks out in CI is SO much fun, cheap, and the seats are all great!

taking him to a baseball game sounds like a good idea. 16 is a hard age to come up with something to do. They usually dont want much to do wiht their parents.

I think it's adorable your son wants to spend time with you !!!!!!

If a game is out for now, I'd let HIM pick what he wants to do. I think you just being there for him and showing him that he'll always be a priority to you is what he's looking for. I'm sure it's effecting him more with you than his Father, b/c 1. he lives with you and 2. your his MOM. I've heard about that Mother/Son bond Chat Icon

Chat Icon this post really touched me!
I have a 9 year old who requests special "mommy time" every so often.
We ususally will go out to dinner together and maybe see a movie.

Now that he has a girlfriend...yeah he spends less and less time with us..LOL! I've tried going to his baseball games from school but they are either in the early afternoon during the week or somewhere upstate and I can't go. I've gone to 1 and he felt bad because I couldn't sit..Chat Icon.

I think I'll take him out for a day of shopping and to a movie/dinner. We had lunch last week..but it's just not the same.

Thanks ladies!!!

I'd say go to a baseball game or if you want to do an overnight trip take him to Cooperstown and go to the Baseball hall of fame.

I think it's so sweet that he wants more time with his mom!

I don't have anything to suggest that wasn't already suggested, just wishing you good luck and have fun!

I think that in addition to the day together now you should promise him a regular "date" for just the two of you. Even if its just one hour a week to go for pizza or ice cream -- time that is just focused on him.

As nice as this sounds...I think he'd rather have a regular date with his girlfriend than me...Chat Icon but I'll try it.
