Any other moms of preemies out there?

I had my DS on 11/18 - 10 weeks early.
Just wondering if there are any other preemie moms out there and how your DC are doing?

We had our DD 8 weeks early.
She is doing GREAT at 5mths old.
She is over 15lbs and is truely holding her own with full term babies which make sus so happy.

4 weeks early, which is not a lot but my baby also had some side effects from a medication I was taking, plus a small degree of intrauterine growth restriction. 6 days in NICU. He's had some feeding issues and reflux but he is doing great. Sometimesmommy, who just posted above me, has helped me out a lot with advice and encouragement!!!!

I had my twins 6 weeks early due to IUGR with on of them. They are now 3 months old and they are doing great. However, at the moment they have colds. I hope they get over it quickly.

My twins were 35 weekers!!! we were in the nicu 9 days... today we are almost 2! we walked early ate early got all our teeth early!
we are doing great!!

GO PREEMIES!!!!! we may be small but we grow strong!!!!

I had DD 7 weeks early.
She was in the NICU for 5 weeks, had problems taking the bottle and was having bradycardias.

But she is doing so great. She is a little over 4 months old and is really starting to show her little personality.

my dds were 6.5 weeks early; they spent 16 days in the NICU. they are 15 months old now, and doing great. hang in there.

DS was 8 weeks early.

No oxygen, apgar scores for 9 and 10 -- he just had to get his weight up... 29 days in the NICU.

Now he's 10 months and huge. You'd never know he was a preemie! He's hit some of his developmental milestones early.

Funny story -- I had some people in to clean the carpet today. The lady was Chinese. She was complimenting me on my son. I told her he was a preemie. She said in China, preemies are good luck and that they believe preemies grow up to be bigger and stronger! I don't know if she was yanking my chain, but it was sweet...

I had my DS 6 weeks early.....he is still in the NICU but doing really well.....we hope to have him home soon!

I had my son 8 weeks early, but he had iugr so he was the size of a 29 weeker. He spent 10.5 weeks in the NICU--and he is doing great. We just celebrated his 1st bday last month! He was on a vent-cpap-then cannula for a combined total of 2 months. He had reflux, pda, bradys, and apneas while in the NICU. Good Luck and FM me for anything.

JAG was born at 34 and a half weeks. Spent some time with heart and lung problems. Spent the first year of his life on a monitor that let us know when he stopped breathing but as his 1 year check up and a few mri's we were given the all clear on him!

My son was only three weeks early but he ended up in the NICU for 7 days for lung issues and an infection in his heart. Quite the scare. I wish you and your family all the best in the world. I hope you and your baby come home quickly and healthy.

My son was born at 34.5 weeks. He's now a 6 year old. Great weight though (6lbs. 7 oz)

Initially there were problems with feeding, maintaining body temp. Exhibited many of the standard issues preemies have...RSV at 3 months old, repeated respiratory issues (croup still even though he's too old for it).

He also has issues with attention deficiet - for which he is seeking treatment. That's a frequent issue with preemies from what I've read.

We have many friends with preemies ranging from 27 weeks to 35 weeks. All older kids, very little long term issues.

My boys were born at 35 weeks. One was 3lbs 10 ozs and his brother was 6 lbs 10 ozs. The 6 lber was full size, but they considered the 3lber a premie because of his size. It was like he was born ealrier since he had IUGR.

He had a month long hospital stay, got NEC while in the hospital, had a few feeding issues and needed an operation at 2 months old from the NEC. While home had a milk protein allergy but by 9 months he had grown out of it and is perfectly normal now at 2 years 5 months. They beleive it was a sensitivty since he had problems with his intestines and liver when born. He was also jaundice which he grew out of, not phototherapy related though.

He is smaller then his brother still but the Dr's are always amazed at how he has caught up and how much he has grown from being so tiny.

He used to be a bit behind his brother by about a month in most things, but now you would never know they were born 3 lbs apart.

My girls were born at 29 1/2 weeks

2 lb 12 oz and 3lb 2 oz they stayed in the NICU for 2 1/2 months..

They are going to be 2 feb 13th and you would never know they were in the NICU..they cought up and are doing great..FM if you need any advise.
