Any other sad mommy teachers going back tomorrow?
Back to school tomorrow. I actually love my job but since DD was born 27 months ago I just hate leaving her in September. We have the ideal situation. My mom watches her and that is the best. It's just getting used to spending all day over the summer with her and now not doing that. I should be saying how lucky I am that I have summers, and a bunch of vacations but September still makes me a bit sad. And I know that I am working FOR DD! I guess I just want to see that I'm not the only crazy mom out there that is sad!
So good luck to all the teachers that are going back tomorrow. How many days till christmas vacation...LOL

So sad.... The is my first September with her. It wasn't so bad going back in June bc I knew it was only temporary, but now it is 10 months!

Same.. I went back in May and it the end was in sight!!!
I am looking forward to starting the year and getting back into the routine, but I had an absolutel BLAST this summer with her.
I just try to be grateful for that and look forward to seeing my coworkers!!!

Same here...today is a sad day knowing back to the grind tomm..I was so sad thinking the next 4 day weekend won't be until Thanksgiving

Right there with you. On one hand feeling so lucky I was able to spend the whole summer with my baby boy, on the other, so sad that I'm going back.

Same here...(well I'm a school psych not a teacher) but I feel like I've been with DS for almost 7 months (I'm not counting the 3 weeks I worked in June) so it's so hard going back tomorrow.
I'm already looking forward to Friday!

I started back last week. The kids start tomorrow. It was harder leaving Abby after a summer than it was after maternity leave. We got very close and she has a real personality now.
That being said, I am excited to see her at the end of the day. She made the transition well and is back on a much better schedule than when I had her home. She is happy and her day care teachers in her new class NEVER report anything but good things.
It is always harder for us than it is for them. Next summer, I don't know if I will be able to stay home as we took a hit by me not teaching summer school. It is something we really need to budget for.

I am sad! I keep trying to enjoy every minute of today. I am going to miss spending my days with DS. He will be exactly 3 months tomorrow and I am so thankful that I have been able to be home with him for all that time. But I will definitely miss him.

Christina, I have the same situation as you, DD is 26 months (& my DS is 4 months) & my mom/MIL will be watching them, but I'm dreading tomorrow. This summer was such a blast w/ them; we did fun things every day & DD really became a little buddy to mommy this summer. She's full of fun & constantly talking & DS is all smiles & on a schedule now.
