Any over 35 TTC'ers?
I'm 34, but I think we won't be TTC until late 2006, when I will be 35.
Lately I am feeling very guilty about not TTC sooner. I mean, I am not ready emotionally or financially, and either is my DH, but still, I wonder if I am being selfish.
Anyone else going through this?

Me!!! I am 39 and didn't meet DH till I was 35. We were originally not even going to try, but changed our minds and here we are 8 months later still TTC.

Re: Any over 35 TTC'ers?
I'm not over 35, but I'm close enough. I'll be 32 in a month. DH is 38. I don't think I will ever be 100% ready - but I think that's normal. I'm glad we started TTC right after the wedding becuase we aren't having the best of luck - so this extra time to find out what is going on is a help.

Re: Any over 35 TTC'ers?
DONT feel guilty! Thats silly. Im 30 and just started trying right before my wedding. We want a few kids, so I KNOW I will be over 35 and still trying!
I know a ton of older women having babies. A matter of fact at the OBGYN the other day, the women I was talking to was like 37-38 and she said they told her that their average PG women in that practice was 36!!! So no need to worry.
My 2 half sisters were both over 35 ( one had twins ) And my uncles best frined, his wife is 45 and her son is off to coleege and shes 5 months and soing well.
So do not like I said feel guilty, when the timing is right, the technology is there!
Good luck!

Re: Any over 35 TTC'ers?
I am 35 , will be 36 in December
DH is 32
Of course in a perfect world I would have met my husband in my 20s, gotten married and started TTC earlier BUT since I had to wait until my prince came () we are dealing with things as they were dealt us
My brother and SIL had their first son December 03 (he is now 18 months) and my SIL was 38, brother was 40 - she had the easiest, most UNcomplicated pregnancy so I think about this when I start worrying TOO much about the age factor

Re: Any over 35 TTC'ers?
Try not to worry too much. I know lots of women who got pregnant over 35. It's so much more common nowadays for women to wait longer to have children. Actually, even my mom had my 2 youngest siblings when she was 37 and 39. She has found that a lot of other parents of my brother and sister's friends are around her age too.

Re: Any over 35 TTC'ers?
I hear ya G -- I am 38 - 39 in August - and DH just turned 40.
I am glad I did NOT have a child with my ex - I would not have been able to leave Spain, nor would I have met my DH. So I believe everything happens for a reason.
I am worried too. I did get pg naturally but had a m/c. However, 1 in every 4 pregnancies ends in a m/c so I will not blame that on my age. It's just the stats.
I really want to get pg before I turn 39 but I still have not gotten back on my cycle since the d&c so that may not be happening for me. Fortunately I quit smoking a few years ago.
On the positive side - 2 of my friends are older than I and are both pregnant - one with twins!! - and everything is fine with them both. So I am hoping I will be in the same situation soon. Nothing I can do to change the past so I can't worry about it anyway...

Re: Any over 35 TTC'ers?
I'll be 36 in August and DH will be 47!
Went of BC in Sept, but DH got sick in Jan '05 and has been on meds that don't exactly help in the BD department, if you know what i mean. He's off them now, so we'll just have to see what happens.
I'm a little concerned cause of my age, but my doctor hasn't been concerned. If we've been trying for a year, we'll see a specialist, although i hope it doesn't come to that.

Re: Any over 35 TTC'ers?
I am 33 and we will be starting in the fall. I will be surprised if it happens before I turn 34 next Jan.
Hopefully we will be able to have 2 so baby#2 won't come till well after 35.
I, too had to wait to meet my DH (I was 31 and he was 32) but he was well worth the wait.
