any positive exp. w/ LI rest. week??
DH and I will be down in LI this weekend and I was just wondering if anybody has gone to a restaurant for Rest. Week and had a great experience.
I don't know the places on the list at all so any reviews would be helpful!

OMG.. I participate in Restaurant week every time they have one! It's usually annually in Nov - but this is the first April one. Its usually the times I go to the more expensive restaurants to try them out..
Some I'd definately recommend is: (Western Suffolk) Vittorios Vero Babylon Carriage House Grasso's Bistro Cassis (or the one in Plainview) The Clubhouse
(Nassau) Mill Creek Tavern Thyme Sage Bistro Hudson's Mill Rein @ Garden City Hotel
eta: If you go on open table - you can see reviews on most of these places & make reservations - which are suggested! Benny's

Re: any positive exp. w/ LI rest. week??
This is LI first spring restaurant week. Usually the Hampton Restaurant week is in the spring.
They also have smaller ones for towns (Babylon/Smithtown).
I think its a good way to try a different place you've never been too. Just check out the menus first b/c a lot of prix fix mens are very limited. Not the best option for a picky eater. You can still get the regular menu though.
I don't like how some places have started to add an extra fee to some of the items (like +4 for steak entree).

DH and I went to Honu in Huntington last night and it was so good. They didn't have a set pre-fixe, you could pick any three things on the menu (3 entrees had a $10 up charge). We will definitely be going back.

We're going to Babylon Carriage House on Wed. They seem to have a large selection on their menu and no add'l charges.

Tuesday we went to the Oar (house). Very good food.
Today we went to The Grill Room - food was okay but it was very loud. And we were sitting towards the back.
Can't wait until next restaurant week.
