Right? It looks like my DS will lay in the crib if one end is propped up a bit, kind of like if I was holding him. There's no reason you can't do this, right? People prop up the mattress for kids with reflux, right? Just checking.

ETA How much do you prop it up.

When my kids have a cold I'll prop up one end by rolling up a bath towel and putting that under the mattress

Nothing wrong with it as long as it's done safely - prop with stuff under the mattress, not in the crib. Chat Icon My ped also told me to do it when Jake has a cold to help prevent ear infections.

I bought a crib wedge to prop her up for AR and colds.

It's 15 bucks and goes underneath the sheet.

I have a bassinet that allows you to adjust the hight, so I kept the top higher than the bottom so she would be on an angle.

When she got her 1st cold and was too big for the bassinet, she slept in her bouncer chair to keep her elevated and to prevent mucus from dripping into her ears and causing an Ear Infection

I believe that a slight elevation is good when the baby has a cold or is a new born. But usually its not necessary.
