any suggestions for trip after new years?
hubbies bday is Jan 2nd. We never can go anywhere b/c flights around the holidays are I wanted to surprise his with something this year; but can't find anything reasonable-so trying to avoid flying. Any suggestions on a great short weekend trip we can take leaving 1/1; and coming back 1/3? Just two nights away?? Close enough to drive or take the train and to avoid the airfare costs? But still a fun place?? He's not a gambler; so thinking maybe Mohegan/Atlantic City wouldn't be a good idea??
Open to other suggestions. Thanks!

Any suggestions on close places to stay from 1/1-1/3?
I checked Mohegan-don't want to risk having to drive in case of a snow storm-any suggestions are appreciated :)

Harrahs in AC has a really fabulous indoor pool area if you just want to chill out for a couple of days. There's a lot of nice restaurants & lounges for dinner & drinks. You can drive or take the train.
Check out the pocono resorts in PA. They have lots of seasonal activities.
What about Manhattan? Stay in the city, get show tickets, that sort of thing?

Re: any suggestions for trip after new years?
My DH and I love this one area of the Poconos, Bushkill Falls... we stayed at Fernwood Resorts in a regular guest room, it was so nice. There is a nice steakhouse in town that feels like a ski lodge, there's ski and snowtubing stuff nearby (we did the tubing lol) and lots of other things around. The hotel area is nice too, surprisingly so, and had a heart-shaped jacuzzi tub with mirrored walls which I did not know about loll... but anyway we have been 3 times, in winter and in April and had a great time on all of them.

Thanks! I'll look into Harrahs-we're not much gamblers but it might be a nice time by the pool & having dinner!
I actually thought about Manhattan too-I'll check hotels.com for availability for those dates.
